Yasochika Iemura

Iemura combs his blonde hair back and keeps a pair of glasses on his face. His outfit is the ordinary Shinigami black robe, to which he sometimes adds the 4th Division's medical kit.

Vanity drives much of Iemura's behavior; he fancies himself cool and is convinced he would look better without his glasses. Having been born on a leap day, and coming from the division weakest in combat, he must address the third seats of other divisions with the deferential honorific despite his own senior rank.

He keeps a meticulous diary and often undercuts it by reading aloud what he is writing, especially when griping about something, and he directs his relief teams with the bearing of a battlefield general.

Chasing better looks, Iemura scoured Soul Society for contact lenses and, finding none, leaned on his supposed fame to slip past the rule barring 4th Division members from the Human World in search of a rogue Shinigami rumored to sell them. When the seller instead offered laser surgery using fine beams of Reishi, the burn-like shadows on the man's face spooked him and he backed out, and he can no longer make the trip.

During the Ryoka invasion he ran the 4th Division's relief effort from the front lines, briefed the lieutenants after the 11th Division took heavy casualties, and later marveled at the speed of Orihime's healing. In the Thousand-Year Blood War he again led a 4th Division unit, ordering the wounded evacuated ahead of the dead, and lent his Reiatsu to the gate raised for the Soul King Palace. As a 4th Division healer he is a capable Kido user whose Kaido treatments are said to rival those of his lieutenant, Isane Kotetsu.
