Chapter 124: Kumanomi

The Order assassin Kumanomi presses Hyo and Heisuke to reveal which of them answers to Kei Uzuki. Hyo recognizes her as one of Uzuki's killers, and she retaliates by ripping his ear off from a distance without laying a hand on him. She blames him for mutilating Gaku, though Hyo has no idea who Gaku is, and when he refuses her demand to produce the culprit, he slams the ground and drops her through several floors.

Kumanomi climbs back up untouched, and Hyo warns Heisuke to run since she is hunting him. Elsewhere, Kashima wonders what drives her, and a companion describes how her rough surface hides real warmth: she sorts everyone into allies and enemies. His friends caution that she has not yet counted Kashima as a friend, which could make him her deadliest foe.

Back in the fight, Kumanomi bends the city's metal with electromagnets, a trick Hyo identifies at once. She flings steel beams, catches him from behind, and slams him into a bus, then peels off its roof and throws him across a car. Hyo finds the ordeal fascinating, and she snaps that he takes pleasure in his own suffering.

Hyo identifies Kumanomi as an assassin loyal to Uzuki and loses an ear to her contactless attack. Her electromagnetic grip over metal turns the street's steel, buses, and beams into weapons, leaving Hyo battered but curious rather than afraid. On the sidelines, Kashima learns that Kumanomi's fierce loyalty could easily curdle into hatred toward anyone she has not accepted.

The chapter opens the Bangkok Arc's duel between Hyo and Kumanomi and collects in Volume 14. It runs nineteen pages and first appeared on June 26, 2023, in issue 30 of that year. Kumanomi, Hyo, Heisuke, and Kashima carry the action, with Uzuki, Gaku, and Uda noted in passing. The cover spotlights Kumanomi alongside Heisuke and Hyo.
