Chapter 95: Amane

Locked in Club Jam's trance, Amane keeps seeing the father he despises, Yotsumura. Club Jam weaponizes that loathing, steering the boy to attack Seba, Shin, and his grandfather. Shin begs him to break free, but the vision of his father holds fast, so Shin turns to the grandfather for an explanation of what happened with the man.

Byodo lays it out: Amane's father killed his own daughter, the boy's mother, over something tied to the JAA. That loss fuels Amane's burning wish to wipe out both the JAA and Yotsumura. Club Jam muses that emotional agony is a suffering all its own, and the grandfather spits curses at him for preying on the boy's wound to hold the trance in place.

As Club Jam presses his assault on the grandfather, Shin jumps in to protect him. Seba warns that Shin's arm has reached its breaking point and one more strike will shatter it. Amane comes at Shin, who slips the attack, and while Club Jam fixes on Shin, Seba cloaks himself with his invisibility suit, slides in behind the man, and shocks him with a jolt of electricity.

Urged to deal with Amane fast, Shin has a single punch left in his glove but wavers, recalling Amane's own words about stopping the hypnotized without killing them. Falling back on the rotation technique he picked up in class, he ducks the boy's swing and pins him down. The grandfather calls on Amane to remember who his father truly was, and Amane relives the warm days they once shared before the terrible morning his mother died. Snapping awake, he finds Club Jam clutching Seba by the throat. As Club Jam readies another hypnotic clap, Amane whips his staff around and severs one of the man's arms, and Club Jam, thrilled by the pain, gushes with excitement until Shin drives home a crushing punch, brands him a masochist, and lays him out unconscious.

Byodo reveals that Amane's father murdered his mother over JAA-linked business, explaining the boy's drive for revenge. Seba electrocutes Club Jam from behind using his invisibility suit. Shin applies the class-taught rotation technique to subdue the hypnotized Amane without his last glove punch. Amane's memories break the trance, after which he slices off one of Club Jam's arms, and Shin knocks the pain-craving villain unconscious.

Part of the JCC Infiltration Arc and gathered in Volume 11, the chapter is titled Amane after the boy whose past drives its emotional core. Its cover features Seba, Shin, Amane, and the janitor Byodo. The installment resolves the Club Jam confrontation while confirming the tragedy behind Amane's hatred of the JAA and his father.
