Jupiter Planet Power, Make Up

This phrase represents the third evolution of Makoto's standard Guardian transformation, slotting in during the Infinity storyline. It comes before her later, stronger call and shows a clear divide between the printed and animated treatments. In the manga the change is effortless, while Crystal stages it as an elaborate visual sequence.

In the manga the change asks for nothing extra: Makoto simply raises her hand, speaks the words, and shifts into Sailor Jupiter at once. Crystal stretches the moment into a full sequence. The planet Jupiter looms behind her as she lifts her hand and her nails flash bright green, then her Star Power Stick appears in her grip. Her silhouette darkens against a green field while blue lightning coils around her, and she turns to reveal the uniform already in place. The Jupiter sign settles on her brow, her tiara takes shape, and she lands her closing pose framed by the planet.

Makoto Kino, as Sailor Jupiter, is the only one to speak the phrase. It debuts in Act 27 of the manga's Infinity arc and carries into the matching first part of that act in Crystal. The transformation later gives way to her stronger call, Jupiter Crystal Power, Make Up.
