The Death of Uranus and Neptune: The Talisman Appears

Eudial refines her search program and locates fresh talisman-bearers, then lures Haruka and Michiru to the Marine Cathedral. Sensing the talismans are about to surface, the two answer the challenge and even take Usagi's brooch to keep her clear of the danger. At the cathedral they walk into a prepared trap, and Eudial reveals that they themselves carry two of the treasures she seeks.

Neptune is caught first, and when Uranus rushes to free her she is badly wounded by a second snare. Eudial aims her heart-removing weapon and names Uranus a holder as well. Neptune tears loose only to be hurt again, and in the struggle her pure heart is drawn out, taking the shape of a mirror. Usagi arrives and shoves Eudial from a ledge before the third talisman can be seized. Unable to restore Neptune's heart while it holds its talisman form, Usagi despairs, but Uranus, seeing hope that Usagi may yet save the world, returns the brooch and turns the weapon on herself, her own heart emerging as a sword.

In the manga both guardians carried their talismans from the start, Neptune bearing the Deep Aqua Mirror in civilian form and Uranus summoning the Space Sword at will, neither hidden inside their bodies. Setsuna Meiou appears for the first time, and Mimete debuts as the coworker whose prank spurs Eudial on. The CWi dub aired it as "Destiny's Arrival" on July 10, 2000, following the Japanese broadcast on October 15, 1994.
