The Final Battle Between Light and Dark: Pledge of Love for the Future

With the Dark Gate swelling toward full power, Death Phantom channels his darkness into the heartbroken Black Lady while preparing to fire the Evil Black Crystal and end the world. Sailor Moon reaches Chibiusa through the Silver Crystal's healing light, rousing Neo-Queen Serenity and freeing the girl from the corruption. When the crystal alone proves barely enough against the malefic one, a second Silver Crystal born of Chibiusa's tears joins it to finish the threat.

Tuxedo Mask takes a blow shielding Sailor Moon, and the guardians plead with Black Lady even as Death Phantom lies that he will grant her the crystal's power. Recalling King Endymion's words, Usagi and Mamoru vow to draw out the darkness, and the Silver Crystal repels the Dark Crystal's energy while awakening Neo-Queen Serenity. Shown the love that once surrounded her, Black Lady weeps, the black crescent fades from her brow, and she becomes Chibiusa once more. The Dark Gate still opens, so Sailor Moon transforms again to strike at Death Phantom, nearly overwhelmed until Chibiusa's tears produce a Silver Crystal hidden within her. Rising as Princess Small Lady Serenity, she lends her strength to her mother's, and together, with the inner guardians, they annihilate Death Phantom and the Black Crystal.

Both survive, and after a tearful goodbye Chibiusa returns to a reunited family in the future as Neo-Queen Serenity welcomes her home over the skyline of Crystal Tokyo. The manga has Black Lady revert only after witnessing Sailor Pluto's death, and stages the final clash in space at the planet Nemesis. The DiC dub replaced the insert song "La Soldier" with "The Power of Love" and rewrote Serenity's counsel to Black Lady. It aired in Japan on March 5, 1994.
