Summary
Distressed that no Daimon has come for her, Minako begins to fear she has no pure heart and drives herself to prove otherwise. Her efforts backfire when she is finally attacked and her heart crystal is drawn out, and in the chaos the Outer and Inner guardians discover each other's secret identities.

Eudial reports to Professor Tomoe that a human silhouette has surfaced within the Holy Grail data, hinting at the relic's destined user. Elsewhere, Minako grows convinced her heart is somehow unfit because no monster has singled her out, and she throws herself into schemes to become a target, from grinding at volleyball to signing up as a blood donor. Haruka and Michiru cross paths with her and wonder whether she knows about the talismans.
Eudial marks Minako and shoots her from behind while she drinks an energy drink Usagi supplied, but rather than collapse, Minako giddily celebrates having a pure heart and dashes off clutching the crystal. Usagi transforms in the open to protect her, exposing herself to Haruka and Michiru, who in turn become Uranus and Neptune. Neptune confirms the crystal is no talisman and returns it. When the trapped Inner guardians finally break in, Minako transforms into Sailor Venus and cracks Eudial's fire buster with Venus Love-Me Chain. Eudial flees, and the outers refuse to explain their hunt for pure hearts before departing.

The manga handles the reveals differently. There Usagi works out Haruka's identity on her own, and Mamoru is first to recognize Neptune as Michiru when she stuns the inner guardians with a violin. In the original dialogue a desperate Doorknobder begs Sailor Moon to strike Eudial first, a line the Cloverway dub rewrote into a joke about cutting Sailor Moon's hair. The Fire Buster attack debuts in this episode.
The episode indulges in some self-parody when Haruka and Michiru's signature theme is cut short by Minako handing them dolls, prompting Haruka's flat refusal of the gift. The English dub reworked the beat into arcade-prize banter.
