Act 18 Invasion - Sailor Venus

Sailor Venus takes on Calaveras, the final Spectre Sister, while a frantic Chibiusa pleads with Sailor Moon to help rescue the future Earth of the thirtieth century. Naoko Takeuchi wrote and illustrated the chapter, the fifth of the Black Moon arc.

The saucer holding Jupiter is gone, leaving only Petz's Dark Crystal earring behind. The two remaining guardians conclude the Black Moon relies on those saucers and must therefore be beings from another world. Studying the earring, Luna and Artemis detect negative energy pouring off it. When Chibiusa arrives and recoils at the sight of the crystal, she reveals it once badly harmed her mother.

The clan sends Calaveras, a spirit medium and the last Spectre Sister, to turn the public against the two guardians. On television she tries to convince viewers the Senshi will bring ruin to the Earth. Rattled by events, Mamoru consults the Shitennou through their stones, and they tell him to wield his power over the earth to protect the Moon Princess. Chibiusa slips into Usagi's room and takes her Crystal Star brooch, hoping to claim the past's Silver Crystal.

Sailor Venus heads to the TV station to stop Calaveras, who draws on the spirits of her fallen sisters to strike back. When Rubeus attacks Usagi and Chibiusa, Tuxedo Mask senses the danger and hits him with Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber, wounding him and driving him off. Usagi reclaims her brooch, becomes Sailor Moon, and destroys Calaveras, rescuing Venus. Chibiusa at last confesses she comes from the future and sought the past's Silver Crystal to save her era, begging Sailor Moon to help the thirtieth century.

Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber makes its first appearance in this chapter. The installment also marks the final appearance of all four Spectre Sisters, closing out that lineup of Black Moon operatives.
