Act 43 Dream 5 - Venus Dream

In the Dream arc's fifth chapter, Helios shows himself in human form to Usagi, Mamoru, Makoto, and Chibiusa, laying out his past and Queen Nehellenia's plan to bury the world under darkness and bad dreams. Meanwhile, Minako, stung at being the only Inner guardian who still cannot transform, becomes a mark for the Amazoness Quartet and the knife-hurling twins Xenotime and Zeolite.

Helios tells Mamoru and the six Super guardians that he has long watched over both Mamoru and the realm of Elysion. He recounts how Nehellenia descended, took him prisoner, and left Elysion in ruin, cursing him and Mamoru alike. The key to breaking her hold, he explains, is Super Sailor Moon undoing the seal on the Golden Crystal, which is revealed to be Prince Endymion's own crystal, a weapon carrying limitless power for good or evil. Minako, hiding her inability to become Super Sailor Venus, is singled out by the Quartet, who send Xenotime and Zeolite against her.

Posing as a talent scout, Xenotime invites Minako to compete for an idol title. She recognizes the trap yet enters anyway, determined to prove herself as the guardians' leader, and the twins' challenge is to rescue children stranded on a collapsing platform. As the brainwashed rival contestants turn cutthroat, the other guardians arrive to shield them from falling boulders and discover that Minako cannot transform. Pinned down by thrown knives, they can only watch as Minako climbs to the top, where the children prove to be Lemures that assail her. With the creatures nearly overtaking her, a frantic Artemis claws at her head to break the spell, but the Quartet drops her through a trapdoor; Artemis catches hold of her, and PallaPalla conjures a massive boulder that plummets toward the cat as Minako screams, certain they are both about to die.

Naoko Takeuchi both wrote and drew the chapter, which introduces the twin adversaries Xenotime and Zeolite and confirms that the Golden Crystal is bound to Mamoru as Prince Endymion.
