Chapter 127: See Ya

Hyo and Heisuke stand over the downed Kumanomi when Hyo suddenly hauls Heisuke backward, and a bullet tears through Hyo's skull. He drops with blood pouring from his mouth as Kumanomi stirs awake. Heisuke fires, but her iron sand smothers the round, and she thrashes him while jeering that shooting is all he can do.

Pressed on why she wars with the JAA, Kumanomi brings up Al-Kamar, a project that forged orphans into artificial Order members against their will. The children resisted, and the scheme collapsed. Heisuke counters that no cause justifies dragging civilians into it. She scoffs, aims at a passerby, and when Heisuke shoots, she redirects the bullet into the bystander and gravely wounds him, telling Heisuke he is no different from her.

Hyo shoves Heisuke clear with a parting word and hurls Kumanomi into the sea, where she begins to sink. He dives after her, and though she drives ship hooks into his back, he clamps onto her hand and vows to drag her down with him. She wrenches free at last and crawls out of the water, haunted by his refusal to let go and convinced the whole group is insane.

A sniper's shot fatally wounds Hyo, yet he summons a final surge to throw Kumanomi into the sea and pull her under. Kumanomi reveals the Al-Kamar experiment that made orphans into forced Order members, framing her war on the JAA. She escapes the water alive, while Hyo's last stand marks the tragic close of their duel.

Set in the Bangkok Arc and gathered in Volume 15, the nineteen-page chapter ran on July 17, 2023, in issue 33. Hyo, Kumanomi, and Heisuke carry the action, with Uzuki referenced. The exchange exposes Al-Kamar, the backstory behind Kumanomi and her fellow orphans. The cover lines up Hyo, Kumanomi, and Heisuke.
