Summary

Crossing into Japan, Jinwoo moves on the Tokyo S-Rank Gate, shredding the Giants that spill out before he downs the towering Legia. Just ahead of that kill he speaks with Legia, takes up the creature's Pledge of Trust, and hears about the long struggle pitting the Monarchs against the Rulers. Records lay out that sixteen S-Rank hunters drawn from several countries had been sent against the gate. Among those killed were the Russian Yuri Orloff, the Canadian Lucas Hoyle, and, of the Black Hole Guild, Hanzawa Kouki. A wide cast circles the events. Thomas Andre features alongside Yoo Jinho and Yoo Myunghan, joined by a string of Japanese hunters, with settings split between Japan and the USA.

Aftermath

By the arc's end Jinwoo had climbed to level 122. Back home, Yoo Myunghan had come down with the Eternal Slumber disease and dropped into a final-sleep state, which Jinwoo reversed by spending a single dose of the Holy Water of Life he carried. His meeting with Legia and the unveiling of the Monarch-Ruler war set the broader conflict moving toward the chapters ahead.
