Baek Yoonho

Neat sideburns and prominent canines stand out on Yoonho, a thickly built young man whose spiky hair and eyes both shine bright orange. Day to day, a black tuxedo is his choice of dress. For the Jeju Island raid he traded it out for black armor with yellow shoulder plating, gray trousers, and golden claws on his hands. The moment his power kicks in, the orange gives way as his hair turns white, his pupils thin into slits, and his eyes blaze yellow. In the revised timeline his look stays the same.

Ambitious and earnest, Yoonho looks out for the people under him, a quality on display when he broke away to form his own guild, nearly traded blows with Hwang Dongsoo for choking one of his staff, and demanded answers from Jinwoo when the Red Gate Incident left only three of his members alive. His sharp perception made him the first to realize Jinwoo's power had no cap. The rewritten timeline keeps that core while adding deep respect for Il-Hwan and a talent for intimidating criminals. Now a firefighter molded by Il-Hwan's influence, he prizes saving civilians over apprehending wrongdoers, puts himself in harm's way for his family, and judges character keenly, reading Suho as good-natured on the basis of his bloodline.

Yoonho began as a Hunter in the Fiend Guild, then departed with a handful of members to set up the White Tiger Guild. When the Korean Hunters Association came calling about the Double Dungeon Incident at Cartenon Temple, his outfit took the job on. The novel's Yoo Jinho Raid Party arc has him chewing out Ahn Sangmin over a failed training-dungeon buy, briefly hopeful for a gifted new recruit and unaware that Jinwoo was Ahn's mark. The Red Gate arc opens with an urgent Association summons that sends him scrambling, the cause being Kim Chul, an A-Ranker of his who had brought a White Tiger training party into the mutated Red Gate Dungeon. Beside him fights his daughter, Baek Miho, and Suho would later forge him shadow gauntlets called BAEKGU.

Counted among Korea's best, Yoonho still lands toward the weaker end of the S-Rank tier in raw output, something Hanekawa pointed out and a trait that arguably ranks him near the bottom of the world's S-Ranks. His strength stays fearsome regardless: he matched Ma Dongwook blow for blow without fully transforming, sparred Atsushi Kumamoto with ease, and stayed on his feet after the Ant King battered and choked him. His hallmark gift turns him into a white-furred, white-haired tiger creature with claws and fangs, a shift he can apply selectively as he did with his hands and hair against Kumamoto. He also commands the Eyes of the Beast, an enlightened state that measures any opponent's power and sharpens his reflexes.
