Hyena Guild

The Hyena Guild keeps a modest operation near Gwanak mountain, but its name carries a dirty reputation. Sung Suho notes that the bulk of its roster consists of reformed-in-name-only gangsters, and the group shows no hesitation about breaking the law on the ground it controls.

Despite the menacing front, the guild is unimpressive in raw strength. When Suho intruded onto their property and exposed a kidnapping operation, he wiped out the entire membership single-handedly. Their typical hunter sits at D-Rank, far below the threat their criminal posture suggests.

Before the story begins, the guild struck a bargain with Brocky, agreeing to deliver human captives that he could pass along to the Itarim. What they expected in exchange for their part of the arrangement is never spelled out. Their crimes therefore served a larger trafficking chain rather than petty turf interests alone.

After Suho's swift defeat of the guild, its true backer came to light: Lee Minsung financed the operation, and every member answered ultimately to him. In the novel continuity the group is darker still, with members able to turn into werewolves after drinking Gray's blood, abducting people as offerings and running a loan-sharking racket that forces debtors into unpaid labor.

The guild's defining trait is its makeup of criminals rather than any standout individual hunters. Its members operated out of a compound on Gwanak mountain. Behind the scenes the financier Lee Minsung directed the whole enterprise.
