Personality

To his fans Minsung plays the part of a gracious, modest, generous star, but that mask conceals an egotist who craves attention and acts like a pampered child when he does not get it. Being the heir of a wealthy business figure feeds his entitlement, and he readily leans on his father's name to bend situations his way. His self-regard is brittle, so anyone with greater clout unnerves him, and he loses his cool the instant the spotlight drifts elsewhere. Cunning underneath, he signed with the guild largely to bury the scandal of dodging the military draft. The Ragnarok timeline sands away what restraint remained, turning him into a far more depraved figure tangled in kidnapping, torture, and drug trafficking, gnawed by an inferiority complex toward his own former driver and willing to betray humanity itself for status. Having decided he had become a villain, he embraced the role without resistance.

History

Minsung climbed to stardom as an actor with a devoted following, even drawing comparison to Asia's finest movie stars, though the industry knew him equally for his swollen ego and his habit of chasing famous models. After a secret A-Rank evaluation he announced a two-year acting hiatus to join the Fiend Guild, a move engineered to distract the public from the draft rumors and sweetened by a deal paying him millions just to promote the brand. His big publicity launch was sabotaged when it collided with the reveal of Sung Jinwoo as Korea's tenth S-Rank, which stole every headline he had counted on.

Stationed off Jeju's coast during the 4th raid, Minsung had never fought a real battle and froze in panic when the ants swarmed after the Ant King fell, earning ridicule from a guildmate. Once the Rulers used the Cup of Reincarnation, the new timeline left him an actor with no hunter powers and his future driver Lim Tae-Gyu at the wheel of his car.

The Ragnarok era restored his A-Rank strength after the Gates returned, but Tae-Gyu awakened as a rare S-Rank and offered him the Fiend Guild's vice-master seat, a gap in power that bred deep resentment. Minsung allied with a weakened Tiel, asking him to kill Tae-Gyu in exchange for helping manufacture the drug Stardust, to which he grew increasingly attached. Pressured by the Hunter Association to clear the Paju Dungeon or lose his license, he was betrayed inside it when Tiel injected him with a potent dose of Stardust. He briefly seized control to stab Tiel in the heart and flee, only to run into Sung Suho, who demanded answers about the drug. Overpowered, Minsung tried to bargain, but Tiel reasserted dominion through the Stardust and erased his consciousness before he could speak.
