Chapter 39

Igris closes the distance at blinding speed, his sword swing so fierce that stone pillars come apart around them. Jinwoo defends as best he can but is plainly overmatched, and once he sees his dagger cannot bite through the red armor he puts it away. In a gesture of fairness, the Knight Commander discards his own weapons too. What follows is a relentless mauling that leaves the hunter barely able to stand against the onslaught.

Returning to the throne room, Igris snatches Jinwoo up and drives him into the floor, then rains down punches that the hunter survives mostly thanks to his armor. Jinwoo triggers his Dash skill to try and strike back, but he still cannot match Igris, who tosses him about with ease. One counter does connect, a firm kick to Igris's throat, which only enrages the commander. He answers with another barrage of fists and feet before hurling Jinwoo into the wall above the throne. The hunter crashes onto the seat, breath ragged and body spent, and slumps over the armrest as Igris advances to finish him.

This Job Change Arc chapter, set in the Job Change Quest Dungeon, was adapted as part of Episode 11. It is a pure combat installment that pushes Jinwoo to the brink, setting up the desperate turnaround that comes in the next chapter.
