Michie Takizawa

Michie is a woman of middle age who wears her dark brown hair gathered up into a loose knot, with strands of fringe left to frame both sides of her face.

By all accounts Michie is an unremarkable, down-to-earth woman whose defining quality is her devotion to her children. She dotes on them warmly, an affection that shows most clearly in her bond with her only son.

Michie's distress after an elderly neighbor named Satou is killed by a ghoul becomes the very reason Seidou chooses to enter the CCG. When he later stops by to visit, she is caught off guard and frets over his still being unmarried, even raising the subject of an appealing classmate before he snaps at the suggestion. She never learns how anxious he is about the coming Owl Suppression Operation in the 20th Ward, which he prepares for by leaving his belongings to her in his will. After Aogiri Tree abducts Seidou, Michie and her husband are killed, and Dr. Akihiro Kanou secretly feeds their prepared remains to their son before disclosing what he has done. The revelation shatters Seidou's mind and drives him to cast off his humanity, and while unhinged by his incomplete kakuja he begins apologizing to his parents for having eaten them.
