Personality

Details of his character are scarce. What comes through is a single-minded devotion to keeping his younger brother safe. Since Rio is reminded of him upon meeting Kaneki, the two men may well have shared a gentle, protective nature.

History

Orphaned young alongside Rio, the elder brother shouldered the burden of providing for them both, hunting on his own so that his sibling would never have to face the danger. That caution did not save him. The CCG eventually tracked him down and killed him, and his body was worked into the quinque Rotten Follow. His death broke something in Rio and triggered the Jail incident.

Clouded memories left Rio open to manipulation by Shiki Kijima, who convinced him the brother was still alive. Rio chased any hope of a rescue before finally recalling that Kijima had already taken his life. Kijima's chilling remark that the brother might be smaller than Rio remembered hinted that the body had been carved apart.
