History
In the past, Sumi joined Uta in savagely cutting down a pair of ghoul investigators who had been chasing another ghoul into an alley, then needled Uta over how eagerly he was making use of Itori during the affair. He was later present when the gang gathered to talk over the CCG's growing activity in the 4th ward.
His earliest showing came in a Volume 4 bonus segment, in which he and Kado tried to rough up Renji Yomo for raiding the gang's refrigerator.
