Touma Higemaru's uncle is a firefighter with the Tokyo Fire Department and a member of the same affluent family that funnels its members into rescue and defense work. Proud of his nephew's calling, he dies during the Clown assault while helping protect the city.
Middle-aged and unremarkable in build, he wears his hair long enough to brush the nape of his neck. His face mirrors his nephew's so closely, right down to the matching hair color, that the family resemblance is unmistakable.
He carries the same fierce devotion to justice and protecting others that runs through his relatives. Doting on his nephew and quick to worry over him, he is grateful to Urie for looking after the young investigator, viewing the boy as the most reckless member of the family.

Amid the turmoil of the Clown offensive, he answers the call as one of the responding firefighters and spots his nephew patrolling nearby with the Quinx Squad. The two of them, along with Kuki Urie, break off to check a separate part of the district. As they move, he reflects on his family's history and admits how startled he had been to learn his nephew wished to hunt ghouls, a path he came to respect as an honorable one. He asks Urie to look after the young man, and moments later Donato Porpora falls upon him and takes his life. In the fight that follows, an overwhelmed Urie is flung about the room and comes to rest atop the firefighter's body.
