The fight with the Gourmet winds down, but a harder question follows: whether Kimi must die now that she has seen ghouls, until her reaction to Touka's kagune upends everything.
Tsukiyama orders Nishiki to release him, then realizes his own arm has disappeared. He tells Kaneki a single bite of flesh is all he wants, but before advancing he collapses. Nishiki Nishio frees Kimi Nishino, and Touka Kirishima insists that because their identities are now known, Kimi cannot be allowed to live.
Kaneki pushes back, drawing a parallel between Kimi and Nishiki, the bond Touka shares with Yoriko, and his own with Hide. Unmoved, Touka lashes out at Kimi with her kagune, but Nishiki throws himself in the way and absorbs every shard. Instead of terror, Kimi looks upon Touka's kagune and calls it beautiful. Stunned, Touka flees the building, condemning herself and what she sees as a dreadful kagune.
Tsukiyama loses his arm and finally falls. Touka moves to kill Kimi, but Nishiki shields her. Kimi calls the kagune beautiful, driving a shaken Touka to flee.

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
