Summary

Katou already knows of Arima and Fura, greeting them as ghoul hunters. As Arima urges caution, Katou releases a kagune shaped like a pair of wings that spray projectiles at him, which Arima deflects with a wooden board. Katou lunges and thrusts, but Arima slips past every strike while landing measured hits with Yukimura, leaving the ghoul wondering what special power grants him such flawless movement.

Fura hurls a heavy brick that gouges out Katou's left eye, and he remarks his throwing arm is still strong. Enraged, Katou springs at Fura, who shouts a warning to Minami and swings his bat in vain as the ghoul turns to interrogate her. Declaring he cares nothing for Arima or Fura, Katou again backs Minami into a corner to devour her. Caught off guard, he then falls to another of Arima's strikes as Yukimura impales his whole torso. Arima smirks that the ghoul proved exactly as expected, nothing beyond an ordinary one.

Downed on the ground, Katou's mask slips off, and Fura grasps how nearly a classmate was lost, relieved that Minami is safe. Minami mourns the loss of her only hairdresser but thanks the pair for rescuing her. When Fura frets that Arima's identity is now exposed to her, she chooses to keep his status secret, then resolves to join their group and begs the reluctant boys to let her help with ghoul investigation.
