Summary

Matsuri Washuu proves to still be breathing despite the katana through his head. He wrenches the blade free and carves through V members and Clowns while stripping off his clothes, his mind on Kuki Urie, then squares off against Kaiko. Declaring that he will cut his way through, he is instead overpowered and left in ribbons, all while Itsuki Marude watches the attempt on his life from somewhere unseen.

The scene returns to the Quinx, where Saiko fights on and Hsiao tends to the wounded Touma Higemaru. He asks after Urie and is told the squad leader is safe and that he should worry about himself, and he thinks back on how skilled Saiko was at supporting the team. Shinsanpei Aura pretends he never saw what Mutsuki did to the Uta clone, and the two agree to join forces to kill Haise Sasaki. Uta, meanwhile, tells Donato that they need a spare piece of themselves now that pieces have been spent as clones, and marvels at how a single instant can reshape a person. He confesses that he involves himself because he is lonely and asks whether Donato feels the same, to which Donato replies that he is far less sentimental.

The Goat fighters alongside the Arima Squad appear to have finished off the Clowns on their flank, and Kaneki decides it is time to withdraw. At the CCG Main Office, the investigators applaud Furuta for crushing the Clown forces entirely, and he beams, aware that everything is unfolding exactly as he planned. Following surgery, Akira Mado is declared stable with the rest resting on her own recovery, and Ogura pledges that his team will keep working underground in support of Goat. Relieved, Kaneki then comes face to face with Koutarou Amon.
