Summary

Touka, Hinami, and the children are trapped as Hazuki kills Tago and seals their escape, jeering at them. His enormous kagune rips down the corridor, and Hinami manages to catch it with her own before being driven back. Touka springs to her defense, hurling shards from her kagune, and Hinami staggers upright insisting she is unhurt. As Hazuki readies a finishing strike, Take Hirako and Squad Zero burst in to shield them and urge Touka and the ghouls onward. Hazuki brands Hirako a traitor and demands he explain himself, but Hirako stays silent until a shadowy figure appears and attacks him.

On the other front, Iwao presses Shikorae hard and lands heavy blows, yet fatigue sets in as Roma's colossal kagune shatters the ground beneath them. Dodging as best he can, Iwao snaps his blade attempting a counter and, left weaponless, is swatted aside. Roma orders Shikorae to end him, but Iwao carves the incoming kagune with the broken stub of his sword.

Key Events

Gravely hurt and willing his wounds to knit faster, Urie can only watch, screaming for Iwao to abandon him and flee. Memories of Shirazu's death wash over him, and in his anguish he lashes out mentally at Kuroiwa over his own father's death. When Roma lifts Iwao off the ground, Urie forces himself upright. Shikorae charges and loses a hand to Urie's kagune, and with the ghoul disabled Urie rushes Roma. She crushes him into the floor, then scoops him up and swallows him whole.
