:re Chapter 15

Eto brings Ayato Kirishima a job from Tatara: guarding an upcoming auction hosted by Big Madam, a post promising good pay. Once he confirms that Naki and Miza will join his team, Ayato accepts, though he bristles when Eto adds that if Floppy appears he is to finish the matter.

Ayato later calls on Hinami Fueguchi, who is sifting through countless audio clips at once to gather intelligence under the watchful eye of Karao Saeki. She confirms that the CCG has also taken an interest in Floppy. Ayato asks Hinami to serve as his ears during the mission, and she agrees, while Saeki is invited along for experience. Having never worked a large operation, Saeki wonders what the auction crowd will be like and, feeling lonely, finds his thoughts drifting to Tooru Mutsuki.

At The Chateau, Haise Sasaki puts his Quinx Squad through hand-to-hand training, easily flooring Mutsuki and then Ginshi Shirazu despite the latter's weapon. Frustrated by their showing, he catches Saiko Yonebayashi playing dead on the floor and pinches her cheeks in punishment. Later, as he teaches Mutsuki to fight with paired knives, Shirazu remarks on how hard Haise is working while Saiko grumbles about her lost weight, and Shirazu spots Kuki Urie through a window.

Alone with his paints, Urie sniffs for any change from his recent operation and, unbothered, decides he will test his kagune in real combat. He recalls petitioning Yoshitoki Washuu to have his frames released, ostensibly to sharpen the squad; Yoshitoki found the request bold and suspected a grudge over Urie's father, which Urie denied. When Kishou Arima arrived to discuss the Arata replacement medium incident, he judged Urie capable of handling the surgery, easing the approval even as Yoshitoki fretted that Haise would resent him. Basking in Arima's recognition, Urie paints with fervor, certain he will master his power without losing himself as his mentor did.

Elsewhere, Kanae von Rosewald forages for food to bring his master, Shuu Tsukiyama, who has sunk into a deep depression since Kaneki vanished. Fearing that fixating on a single prey will ruin Shuu, Kanae hopes his master will turn to other quarry, and he resolves that if the investigator Haise truly is Kaneki, he will kill him by his own hand. He begins to consider attending the auction himself.

Ayato accepts the auction bodyguard job and enlists Hinami as his intelligence support. Haise trains the struggling Quinx Squad. Urie secures Arima's backing to have his frames released. Kanae resolves to kill Haise if he proves to be Kaneki and eyes the coming auction.

This eighteen-page chapter appeared in issue 2015-10 on February 5, 2015, within the second volume of Tokyo Ghoul:re. Its Japanese title, 更努, is read as Kōdo and is rendered in English as "Record." The installment threads together several factions converging on the auction arc.
