Summary

Shikorae calls Saiko cute and plump and paws at her face as she stares back in terror. Elsewhere Kanae tumbles through the parking garage railing, and when Urie calls Shirazu for backup, his squad leader does not budge, allowing Kanae to slip from the building. Urie is frustrated at letting him escape yet pleased to have found his rhythm in the fight. Facing Grave Robber, Mutsuki senses their quinque skill is evenly matched and brings out his kagune, prompting her to reveal her own bikaku. She explains she rarely uses it because it burns more Rc cells than an ordinary bikaku, and that she collects quinques and wants Mutsuki's for her hoard, gaining the advantage until Urie blocks her weapon and orders Mutsuki to fall back. This time Shirazu answers Urie's call, and Grave Robber, outnumbered, withdraws.

Reaching Haise, the three are stunned to find he has utterly crushed the White Suits, who flee as he judges their combined strength around A-plus. Asked why they were attacked, Haise admits he does not know but suspects a link between Rose and Aogiri Tree, then notices Saiko is missing. Saiko is being devoured by Shikorae when a mysterious figure in dark robe and armor intervenes, striking Shikorae in several places with projectiles. The robed giant, notable for a three-fingered right hand, departs the moment he has saved her, leaving Saiko bewildered as Haise and Mutsuki arrive relieved.

The Aogiri ghouls squabble over the botched mission, and a wounded Kanae leans against a building for support while Eto watches, giggling, from a road bridge overhead. The chapter closes as a winded Shuu Tsukiyama steps into :re and greets Touka Kirishima with a quiet good evening.
