The Second King is the fifty-sixth chapter of Tokyo Ghoul:re. Kaneki gains the high ground against a destabilizing Eto, cuts her down as she confesses, and is discovered feeding on her kakuja by Koori Ui.
With her true body laid bare by Kaneki's earlier cut, Eto begins to unravel. Her kakuja regrows into a grotesque shape, sprouting surplus limbs, mouths, and eyes while she mutters broken phrases about Kaneki. She renews her attack, driving the other ghoul along toward the edge of the Lunar Eclipse Building, where Matsuri Washuu and a handful of investigators catch a glimpse of the two rushing past the windows.
Using his kagune to haul himself back onto the rooftop, Kaneki settles onto a steel frame and takes the higher position. He lets the Owl come to him before spearing her kakuja with several kagune limbs, wounding the ghoul housed inside. Bleeding now, Eto licks her own blood from his nose and speaks of a growing affection for him rooted in how alike they are. In answer, Kaneki slices her in two. As her upper half tumbles free, she declares her love while laughing wildly, and he replies that he is honored, addressing her by her human name, Sen Takatsuki.
Moments later, Koori Ui reaches the rooftop and is shocked to find Kaneki, in his Sasaki guise, feeding on what remains of Eto's kakuja.
Losing her composure, Eto reshapes her kakuja into a deformed mass and chases Kaneki along the side of the Lunar Eclipse Building. Kaneki reclaims the rooftop, takes the higher ground, and impales the Owl. After she professes her love, he cuts her in half and names her as the author Sen Takatsuki. Koori Ui arrives to catch Sasaki devouring her kakuja.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
In :re Chapter 56, Eto's kakuja destabilizes into a grotesque shape as she chases Kaneki, who takes the high ground, impales her, and ultimately cuts her in two after she confesses her feelings for him.
After slicing Eto in half, Kaneki replies that he is honored by her confession and addresses her by her human name, Sen Takatsuki.
Koori Ui reaches the rooftop and is shocked to find Kaneki, still in his Sasaki guise, devouring the remains of Eto's kakuja.
The chapter is titled The Second King, written as Ni no O in Japanese, and its title puns on the word retaking.
:re Chapter 56 appears in the sixth volume of Tokyo Ghoul:re, released in issue 2016-2 of Weekly Young Jump.
