Asanuma voices Nishiki Nishio, a university student and ghoul who clashes with Kaneki early in the series over territory and Nishiki's short temper with anyone he sees as beneath him. As the story moves forward Nishiki grows into a genuine ally of Anteiku, and by Tokyo Ghoul:re he has become a formidable S-rank ghoul known to investigators as Serpent, one who hunts CCG agents rather than hiding from them.
