Dragon Ball Z Songwriter

Kiyooka composed many of Dragon Ball Z's most recognizable musical pieces, bringing emotional depth to the series. Her credits include the opening theme 'Cha-La Head-Cha-La,' the energetic 'Ya na Koto ni wa Genki-Dama,' and powerful fight themes like 'Tobikkiri no Saikyou tai Saikyou.' She also penned 'HERO (Kimi ga Hiiro)' and 'Light's Journey,' songs that captured the spirit of critical story moments.

Career and Other Work

Kiyooka graduated from the University of the Sacred Heart and launched her career in 1987 under mentor Daiko Nagato. Beyond Dragon Ball, she arranged and composed music for anime including Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture and Fushigi Yugi, and has worked as a songwriting instructor at Being Music School under the pen name Akane Housen.
