Perhaps We Should Invite Ourselves Over

The class rice-ball booth becomes the hit of the festival once Yuki, coaxed into a girl's outfit, sends sales soaring. Momiji and Hatori both stop by, and the meeting stirs up the first real hints of how tightly the family guards its secrets. Afterward, Arisa and Saki dig into Tohru's living situation, invite themselves for a sleepover, and give their approval before a late call from Hatori sets the next chapter of the story in motion.

Momiji bounds into Tohru's arms at the stand and pops into his rabbit shape, while Hatori, acting on Akito's wish, snaps a photo of Yuki and Kyo from the school roof. As he departs, Yuki cautions Tohru that Hatori holds the power to erase memories. Curious about her closeness to the two boys, Arisa and Saki press for details and discover she has been living under their roof, so they turn up for a sleepover and see for themselves how at ease she is.

During the visit Tohru recounts being guided home as a child by a kind boy whose cap she still keeps, a tale Kyo overhears with particular interest. The next morning her two friends formally entrust the Sohma household with her care, mimicking parents handing off a bride. The episode signs off as Hatori phones Tohru, asking her to come to the family estate and meet with him alone.

Adapting chapters seven and nine, the installment reshuffles their order and folds in anime-original scenes to smooth the transition, and it marks Hatori's debut in the series. Its title lifts a line spoken by Saki. Katsuhiko Bizen directed the Japanese version with Caitlin Glass handling the English dub, over openings and endings Again and Lucky Ending. The Yuki Fan Club's attempt to shield him from photographers and Kyo's brief chase after Hatori's camera are both additions unique to the anime.
