Mario Kugutsu

Plain office clothes, black hair combed flat, ordinary height: Mario passes for any commuter on any train. His eyes stay shut nearly all the time, which reads as dull and spiritless, and that is the point, because it is cover. Open, they are wrong in a way that verges on manic, and paired with an unusually long tongue the whole face turns unsettling.

Trigger rewrites him. He swells until he stands as tall as a building, sprouts a second pair of arms, and his skin goes jet black. Body hair vanishes, and his features flatten into something far simpler.

First impressions say nervous and easily rattled. Knuckleduster only has to shout at him to get him cowering, and he apologizes reflexively, including when he fumbles his suitcase and spills the toys inside it.

All of that is theater staged for vigilantes and heroes. What he actually is, is a predator who hunts for weak wills and fragile pride and hands those people Trigger so their Quirks tear loose. There is something genuinely perverse in him about the toys and about the drug itself.

Take the drug himself and the mind goes backward. Despite the monstrous body it produces, he lapses into childhood: rolling toy cars, flying anyone he can grab through the air like a plane while making the engine noises out loud. The regression looks total. He is also a careful liar, and he talked the authorities into believing he was just one more unwilling Instant Villain, which walked him out the door with no charges attached.

Playtime: The Quirk has only ever been observed while Trigger is in his system. Under it, his body blackens completely, his height climbs to colossal, and he gains a second pair of arms.
