Pulsing Signal is the forty-ninth chapter of Tokyo Ghoul:re. The Itou and Quinx squads throw everything they have at the near-unkillable Noro, Mairo trades his life to bring down Hairu Ihei, and Matsumae ends Kijima with Rotten Follow.
Summary
The Quinx and Itou squads throw themselves at Noro, who lands the first blow and cuts down Umeno and Nezu. When his kagune lunges for Saiko, Takeomi Kuroiwa slices it apart to shield her, and Urie shears off yet another length of it. Mutsuki and Shirazu hit Noro together and hold him fast, letting Saiko unfurl her own kagune and split him in two. He knits himself back together at once and lashes out at Kuramoto, cracking his ribs.
Bleeding from the wound punched through her chest, Hairu Ihei begs Okahira for her quinque and buries Matsumae under a storm of T-Human's lightning. Mairo suddenly throws himself in front of Matsumae, shouting at her to guard Shuu. Even as the bolts tear his body apart, he manages to sever Hairu's head. In her final moment, Hairu recalls a younger version of herself beside Arima and smiles before she falls.
Kijima then moves on Matsumae but is stabbed by Mairo. With her opponent distracted, Matsumae takes off Kijima's arm and drives Rotten Follow clean through his skull.
