Takamura

Takamura cuts a deceptively fragile figure, an old man with white hair combed straight back and small black eyes he tends to keep shut. He dresses in a white polo under a tan suit with matching trousers and black shoes, and he is never without his katana, which he will casually lean on like a cane when he takes a seat.

Described as a killer without brakes, Takamura kept to himself outside of a fight, his speech usually reduced to unintelligible mumbling even though he could talk plainly when he chose to. He generally went his own way, deaf to those around him yet acutely attuned to any hint of aggression, striking down whatever showed him hostility, down to a fly, along with anyone flagged by the JAA or the Order. He gave scant thought to bystanders and left wreckage in his wake. For all that, a thread of principle ran through him: he lent a hand to his old peer Sakamoto to stop Tokyo Tower from toppling, yet his duty to the JAA came first, and once Asaki set bounties he turned on Sakamoto and Nagumo without pause. That devotion reached the point of maiming himself, severing his own arm to slip free of a trap laid by X's Organization.

Takamura stood as the raw powerhouse of the Order and, by reputation, the deadliest killer in the JAA, a man Slur had hoped was already dead. Age did nothing to blunt him. He moved faster than the eye could follow even at a stroll and with his eyes closed, slashing opponents before they grasped what had happened and cutting Sakamoto and Nagumo in the same instant. His strength let him block Gaku's giant mace with a sheathed blade and shear through museum pillars, vending machines, and the very legs of Tokyo Tower. As a master of iaijutsu his draws were surgical, clean enough that severed limbs could be reattached and still work, and he was adaptable enough to counter several skilled foes at once, even honing his katana mid-duel on a bullet fired at him. His weathered katana and its sheath were both durable beyond reason, shrugging off blows from the likes of Gaku and Sakamoto.
