Demon God

Emerging from the temple's horrors, Silat sees Ganishka's Daka being routed by the transformed apostles and spots the emperor watching from a balcony. Rakshas' warning that the man is no human echoes in his thoughts. Below, Locus stands ringed by Daka, then pivots on the spot with his lance extended and slips through them untouched; only once past does it become clear the spin was a single stroke that beheaded them all.

Impressed yet doubtful the band can carve through his endless Daka and pishacha, Ganishka is struck by an arrow loosed by the hidden Irvine. To the archer's shock, the shaft passes harmlessly through the emperor, whose body dissolves. Ganishka's vast face, formed of fog, then materializes behind Irvine and blasts apart the rooftop he stands on, though the archer escapes. The face lifts as a giant fog body takes shape beneath it, and he pours a torrent of lightning onto the apostles below, killing several instantly. He orders the survivors to submit, but Locus alone defies him. Ganishka fails to notice a winged silhouette gliding across the moon.

In the Tower of Rebirth, Charlotte stitches yet another likeness of Griffith while Anna, gazing out the window, mistakes the distant thunder for a storm rather than Ganishka's lightning. Fearing the endless embroidery is harming the princess, Anna urges her to bed; Charlotte agrees, then retrieves her tools to keep working under the covers once alone. A sudden gust draws her eye to the open window, where a man stands unseen in shadow. Terrified, she presses her embroidered image of Griffith to her face and finds that the stranger's silhouette matches the portrait almost exactly.

Locus decapitates a ring of Daka with a single spinning strike. Irvine's arrow passes harmlessly through Ganishka, revealing the emperor can dissolve his body. Ganishka assumes a giant fog form and unleashes lightning that kills several apostles, but Locus defies his order to stand down. Zodd's winged silhouette crosses the moon unnoticed. In the Tower of Rebirth, a shadowed figure appears in Charlotte's room, matching her embroidery of Griffith.

A twenty-page chapter of the Millennium Falcon Arc, printed in Young Animal issue 3 on January 23, 2004. It exposes the supernatural nature of Ganishka's fog body and sets up Griffith's covert appearance before Charlotte.
