Summary
His arm freshly severed, Guts hurls himself at Griffith, only for a knot of apostles to seize him and pin him flat against the ground. Immobilized, he can do nothing but witness Femto continue to defile a bleeding Casca. Slan, moved by the scene, remarks to Ubik that the tangle of love and cruelty, agony and pleasure, living and dying woven through the moment is at once wholly human and wholly wicked.
