Rudbornn Chelute

Rudbornn keeps his face concealed, unusual among Arrancar. What sets him apart from his troops is the bull-shaped skull he wears in place of the human-shaped ones they don. His outfit is a tailored one: a long-sleeved jacket crossed by a black line that runs from the high collar down to his right hip, worn with a black sash, white hakama, and black gloves.

Level-headed and calculating, Rudbornn opts to withdraw rather than pick a fight with Retsu Unohana and Isane Kotetsu when they turn up in Hueco Mundo. A haughtier side surfaces against Rukia Kuchiki, whom he tells that his power rivals a god's. He is fiercely loyal to Aizen and the Espada, yet resentful that he was never able to rise into the Espada's ranks himself.

Rudbornn is acquainted with Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio, and he implies that Aizen himself granted him his power. As head of the Exequias, he and his soldiers sweep in after each fight in Las Noches to gather data and finish off any survivors, disposing of losers like Dordoni and Cirucci Sanderwicci on orders and moving to do the same to Yasutora Sado and Gantenbainne Mosqueda until Retsu Unohana and Isane Kotetsu appear, prompting a careful retreat. Later, during the fighting over the fake Karakura Town, he and the Exequias block Ichigo Kurosaki's path to Ulquiorra Cifer and Orihime Inoue, but Rukia Kuchiki intercepts him, catching his sword and hand in ice that he shrugs off. Once Rukia has cut down his underlings, he releases his Zanpakuto and boasts that beating his pawns will not win her the day.

That released state, Arbol, wraps his body in branches hung with skulls, and from those skulls he conjures a limitless supply of durable soldiers, the Calaveras, replicas that carry copies of his gear and can even band into a defensive wall of bodies. He backs this with respectable spiritual power, capable swordsmanship, and skilled use of Sonido to strike without warning, plus enough raw strength to shatter Rukia's ice. His weakness is the tree itself: freeze or cripple the branches and no more Calaveras can grow. When Ulquiorra breaks through the dome of Las Noches, Rudbornn's attention slips, Rukia freezes his branches, and an enraged Yammy Llargo smashes into him, cracking his mask and leaving his fate uncertain. A later novel reveals that he survived, went on to keep order in Hueco Mundo after Aizen's fall, and drew Loly Aivirrne and Menoly Mallia into the Exequias.
