Ryūnosuke Yuki

Green eyes and black hair mark Ryūnosuke, who wears the standard Shinigami robes. Round clips fasten his hair, three set on the left and a pair on the right.

Meek and soft-natured, Ryūnosuke is prone to nerves and frights, yet he steels himself when it truly matters, readying to act the instant Shino falls into danger. His kindness shows in the worry he spares for Ichigo Kurosaki's safety despite barely knowing him.

Slated to relieve Zennosuke Kurumadani as protector of Karakura Town, an exhausted Ryūnosuke arrives late and is chided, then paired with Shino Madarame for the posting. Sent into the Human World, he flees a Hollow, tries to save a captured Shino, and is left badly hurt until Ichigo Kurosaki cuts the creature down and takes him in. He convalesces in Ichigo's room, witnesses the arrival of Asguiaro Ebern, and hears of the Wandenreich's incursion and Chōjirō Sasakibe's death.

Back in Soul Society he is stationed with Hidetomo Kajōmaru, only to watch Yhwach breach the Seireitei's barrier and Hidetomo fall to a Wandenreich attacker. He is later told of Ichigo's approach and joins the Shinigami lending their Reiatsu to open a passage into the Soul King Palace. In the later novel WE DO knot ALWAYS LOVE YOU he is shown to have survived the war and resumed his Karakura duties, briefly returning to hand over a gift from Urahara. His sealed Zanpakutō is a plain katana with a light-blue hilt, its Shikai still unknown, and his spiritual power is ordinary for a Shinigami.
