Crashing force! Fried vs. Zangetsu

Welcomed into the mansion's main hall by Jin Kariya, Ichigo announces he has come to take Uryū back by force. When Kariya refuses, Ichigo shields his companions from a strike by Utagawa's Doll, Fried, letting Rukia, Ririn, Kurōdo, and Noba slip away to find their friend. Utagawa boasts that a single Bount is more than enough for a Substitute Shinigami and even has Kariya set aside his crest, explaining that the crest is the source of a Bount's power to summon a Doll.

The fight turns on Fried's snakes, which slither from gouged surfaces to bind and bite Ichigo, culminating in the Snake Net, an inescapable field of eight-pointed seals that reacts faster than he can move. Slammed through a wall, Ichigo appears finished, yet he rises unharmed, revealing he wrapped his body in dense Reiatsu to blunt the assault. He answers Fried's next charge with a Getsuga Tenshō that tears through the snakes and blows a hole in the mansion.

Elsewhere, Rukia and the Mod-Souls are ambushed by Maki Ichinose, a former Eleventh Division member who stabs a hidden Kurōdo, shrugs off Ririn's illusions, and blocks Rukia's weakened Sōkatsui. He recounts how Kenpachi Zaraki's rise shattered the ideal he built with the previous captain, driving him to desert and serve Kariya.

Emboldened yet unnerved by his silent comrades, Utagawa uses Fried to snatch Kariya's crest and demands the other Bount bow to him as their new leader. Kariya calmly deflects a Doll strike with an energy barrier, revealing he never actually removed his crest and exposing the theft as pointless. Ichinose then arrives, releases his Shikai Nijigasumi, blinds and slashes Utagawa dozens of times, and runs him through the chest, sending the traitor tumbling into the chasm Ichigo's Getsuga left behind. Ichinose turns to face Ichigo, exerting his rainbow Reiatsu as the two prepare to clash.

An anime-only Bount arc episode with no manga source, it stages the concluded Ichigo versus Ryō Utagawa fight and introduces Ichinose's grudge over Kenpachi. Outside, Sado and Orihime flee Gesell's Wächter toward Ichigo's location. The Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book skit features a lieutenants' meeting where Byakuya, filling in for Renji, gravely defends bananas as excellent nourishment rather than a snack, delighting Yachiru.
