Gotei 13, Gathering in the Real World!

At the Urahara Shop, Ichigo's group looks after the recovering Nozomi Kujo, though she rebuffs Kon's clumsy questions about why Kageroza Inaba's forces are hunting her. Rukia soon calls Ichigo away to join Byakuya and the other captains. In the research institute, Inaba rallies his Reigai copies of the Gotei 13, revealing he has sealed the Dangai so the originals cannot return to Soul Society, and hints at a plan reserved for the Captain-Commander.

In Ichigo's room, a makeshift committee gathers as Mayuri lays out Inaba's role and how he manipulated time to strand them in the Dangai while manufacturing duplicates. Ichigo presses on why Inaba wants Nozomi, and Mayuri proposes that something may be sealed inside her, much like the Hogyoku once hidden in Rukia's gigai.

While the others throw a welcoming barbecue, Nozomi slips away and is intercepted by a Reigai of Rangiku, marked by an unusual bracelet, who means to haul her back through a Senkaimon. Kon gives chase and throws himself between them, absorbing a beating and a sword cut that spills a hidden container of chili powder from his stuffing.

Ichigo intervenes just as the counterfeit moves to cut Nozomi down, and Renji, Rukia, and the real Rangiku arrive. Cornered, the Reigai releases Haineko as a distraction, opens a Senkaimon, and escapes to Soul Society. Back at the shop, a relieved Kon offers Nozomi a skewer of meat, which she tentatively accepts.

An anime-original installment of the Invading Army arc, the episode contrasts the real Gotei 13's strategy meeting with the Reigai conspiracy and centers Kon's protectiveness toward Nozomi. A closing skit has Rangiku fret over wrinkles faithfully copied onto her Reigai, then try to replenish her collagen with barbecue meat.
