Protect Ichigo! The Bonds of Friends!

At the Urahara Shop, Tessai urges the waiting Shinigami to move on the Seireitei now that captain-level power has been confirmed inside it. In Soul Society, a Hollowfied Ichigo hurls a Cero at Yushima, who dodges and shrugs off the assault while the true captains grapple with their doubles. Urahara duels his own Reigai in a battle of brute force, Komamura and Hitsugaya answer their copies' Bankai and Shikai, and Mayuri is wounded amid the chaos as Kenpachi's Reigai runs wild. Yushima, carrying both Nozomi's and Kagerōza's spiritual signatures, radiates ever greater power as his Reigai army senses their master nearing full strength.

Rukia, Renji, and the others arrive to shield Ichigo, and Uryū deduces that Yushima's true gift is the manipulation of space, letting him teleport at will. Yushima concedes the point, then unveils the twin abilities of his Zanpakutō: Raikū absorbs incoming attacks and Arazome Shigure, through Sumitsukigasa, lets him fire them back without cost. He effortlessly repels the group's combined techniques and reveals that his real goal is not to rule Soul Society but to annihilate it. When Yushima moves to kill Rukia, Ichigo intercepts the strike and is stabbed in her place.

The Gotei 13 battle their Reigai across the Seireitei as Urahara fights his own duplicate. Uryū identifies Yushima's spatial manipulation, and Yushima demonstrates absorbing and returning attacks with Raikū and Arazome Shigure. Yushima declares his aim to destroy Soul Society, and Ichigo takes a fatal-looking blow meant for Rukia.

Episode 339 is an anime-exclusive installment of the Gotei 13 Invading Army arc, adapting no chapters and pairing the opening BLUE with the ending Haruka Kanata. A comic Illustrated Picture Book segment has Ichigo's Hollow made to jump through a hoop while Yushima tries to explain how his Reigai are created.
