The Last Quincy! The Exploding Power

Jin Kariya strolls up to the guarded entrance of the Research Institute and blasts his way inside with tornadoes, leaving Nemu Kurotsuchi pinned under rubble. Sensing the surge, Ichigo Kurosaki races toward him with Sado and the Mod-Souls. On a nearby rooftop, Uryū Ishida faces the Bount Yoshi, whose Doll Nieder shifts between fan and sword forms. Uryū insists he fights not for revenge but to end pointless battles on his pride as a Quincy, though he privately dreads the warning that his Quincy Bangle might fail or detonate at any moment.

The duel turns lopsided as the Bangle grows unstable. Uryū's arrows swing wildly off target or, when overcharged, threaten to harm him as much as Yoshi, and Nieder's armored form nullifies even his strongest shots. When Yoshi reverts to the Happonjin blade mode and lashes out with strings of energy blades, she carves through Uryū's shoulder and sends him crashing into a distant pavilion, leaving him bleeding and seemingly beaten.

Inside the facility, Kariya finds a vault of labeled compartments and tears them open searching for a Bount crest, his own crest resonating with something near. Ichigo activates Tensa Zangetsu and clashes with him, their colliding attacks blasting open a deep pit that exposes the glowing Jōkaishō at its base. Kariya recites an incantation and merges with its purifying energy, declaring he can now erase the Seireitei whenever he wishes, and grants a one-day grace period before vanishing. Sado holds Ichigo back from pursuit. On the rooftop, Yoshi turns to leave, believing Uryū dead, only for him to rise and fire another arrow at her back.

Kariya breaks into the Research Institute and battles Ichigo and Sado in his hunt for the Jōkaishō. Uryū duels Yoshi while his Quincy Bangle destabilizes, and is severely wounded but survives. Kariya merges with the Jōkaishō, claiming the power to destroy the Seireitei, and issues a one-day ultimatum before escaping. Uryū rises to fire on a departing Yoshi.

An anime-only entry within the Bount assault on Soul Society, this episode adapts no manga chapters. Its opening is Rolling Star and its ending Baby It's You. A closing "Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book" skit shows a wounded Mayuri Kurotsuchi limping home, only for Ichigo and Sado to play janken over who must carry him piggyback.
