THE UNDEAD 6

Torn apart by his own effort, Gremmy wonders aloud whether his imagination killed him. Kenpachi, landing in the spreading blood, tells him the vision was accurate to a fault: Gremmy pictured his strength perfectly but failed to grasp that only Kenpachi's body could bear such power. Gremmy starts to claim his imagination did not lose, catches the excuse, and instead confesses how badly he wanted to win, just as a brain sealed in a capsule bursts from his dissolving form.

He reminds Kenpachi of his vow to kill him without lifting a finger and reveals that even his body was a thing he imagined, so the promise held although he is the one who died. Noting his imagination has reached its limit, he muses on how frightening it is to picture a world he can no longer imagine, then fades entirely, leaving only the brain and a subdued Kenpachi.

With the fortress and blood gone without a trace, Kenpachi coughs up blood and realizes his organs were hurt in the fight, his hearing dulled by the blasts. Searching the rubble for Yachiru, he finds only her empty uniform and badge. His subordinates arrive to celebrate but have not seen her either, and when he orders a search, a bolt of lightning from Candice Catnipp cuts them down. She lands with Liltotto Lamperd, Meninas McAllon, and Giselle Gewelle at her side.

Gremmy dies, admitting his imagined power was so exact that only Kenpachi's body could survive it, and reveals his very body was one of his creations. Kenpachi, wounded internally and half-deafened, finds only Yachiru's empty uniform and badge where his lieutenant should be. The Bambies, led by Candice Catnipp, ambush the Eleventh Division with a burst of lightning.
