Summary

Blue Lock restarts with Isagi carrying the ball forward, noticing the attack has shifted now that Hiori is involved. Where the offense had moved as separate individuals around Rin as its hub, Hiori's composed vision and precise control turn him into an anchor and launch point instead.

Darai clamps onto Hiori and insists he cannot slip away, but Hiori says escaping was never the plan, since he fights another way. As Isagi notes, no one expects Hiori to win a duel; they expect him to line up everything and deliver the perfect ball. Telling Darai that ego does not only show through head-on collisions, Hiori fires a lightning outside pass to Karasu between Sendo and Hayate. Karasu praises the delivery but jabs that Hiori only knows how to move the ball away, prompting Hiori to claim he can do more. Karasu carves out a pocket, shielding the ball and rolling it just behind him for Hiori to collect, then dares him to show what makes him special. Isagi watches the pair manufacture a fleeting window for Hiori to set himself perfectly.

With his left foot calm and exact, Hiori strikes a firm ball by reflex into the heart of the box, its quality drawing Sendo's comparison to Sae. Sendo reads it for Rin, but it is meant for Nagi alongside him. Nagi, sick of Nio's marking and having used Rin as bait, leaps and flicks the incoming ball with his boot into open space, nudging it behind Rin to the one place only Isagi occupies. With Rin's body screening the defenders, Isagi sets to shoot, only for Aiku to react with astonishing reflex and knock the ball off line before contact, snuffing out the effort and reaffirming that nothing gets past him in his zone. Isagi, stunned, realizes that even improvising off a freshly changed formation, he still cannot beat Aiku's anticipation, and that any direct shot inside that zone is useless.

Isagi calls the counter as Hayate collects and feeds Sae, and Karasu warns everyone to guard the passing lanes to Shido. Aryu signals Reo that their moment has come, and Reo recalls Ego telling him before he came on that his sole purpose is to stop Shido, a task he prepared for by studying the Iron Wall Quartet all match. Locking onto both Sae and Shido, Reo waits for their chemistry to spark. The instant Sae moves to release the pass, Reo launches into the exact Total Defense Aiku showed at kickoff, copying it to everyone's shock and cutting the ball off as Shido peels away. Declaring his role is a chameleon-style defense built to kill Shido's plays, Reo earns Nagi's admiring compliment.
