Whip Hybrid

Standing the smallest among the hybrids, she is a short woman whose brown hair hangs unkempt to her shoulders, with a fringe over her brow and dark, smudged shadows ringing her eyes. Her usual outfit is a buttoned shirt beneath a long blazer that sits loose off her shoulders in the manner of a cape, the shirt pushed into high-waisted dark trousers, the look topped off by round sunglasses. While serving among Makima's brainwashed ranks she put on the regular Public Safety hunter uniform, yet even then let the jacket rest cape-like on her shoulders rather than slipping her arms through it. Once she triggers her form, each arm tapers into a lengthy whip, further cords sprout at her neck to stand in for hair, and her jaw stretches into a pointed chin studded with bared teeth resembling Chainsaw Man's.

Her authentic character stayed buried during the brainwashing, but the Second Popularity Poll paints her as arrogant and domineering. That shows when she flatly waves away the Spear Hybrid for suggesting they vie over who gets to date Makima, and when she shrieks with laughter while raking her whips across Chainsaw Man. She judges herself a cut above mere humans, convinced God singled her out. By Part 2 she has gone loose and offhand, devoutly worshipping Chainsaw Man and glad to slaughter en masse so he will surface; to a hesitant Miri Sugo she insists they are nothing but weapons who must shed every other thought. A streak of stupidity surfaces too, since she guesses that the one trait shared by humans, weapons, and devils is simply that each word is tough to spell, yet she hates being taken for a kid, boasting instead about the youth the hybrid process preserves and announcing she is 81. Even so, she reads other people's schemes shrewdly, noting that romancing Makima could only end in catastrophe, and she alone among the church's hybrids drops any pretense of a noble cause, killing simply because it pleases her. Beneath the swagger she does fret over her allies, howling at Denji to cough the Spear Hybrid back up mid-bite and pleading for Sugo's help once Chainsaw Man pins her.

She turned hybrid earlier in life by merging with the Whip Devil, after which Makima's brainwashing claimed her. Through the Control Devil arc she serves in the freshly built Special Division 5, a unit of weapon hybrids assembled purely to topple the fully powered Chainsaw Devil, and she cautions the Spear Hybrid that pursuing Makima's affection brings only sorrow. The squad triggers and pounces on command, yet Chainsaw Man flings them all back before a single strike connects. She ambushes him from behind once he survives Barem's explosion, only for Reze to smash through and carry him off, and she is ripped apart with her teammates after Chainsaw Man weathers being launched toward space. Makima resurrects the unit in a graveyard to confront Denji; after she finishes speaking to Pochita, who wears Denji's face, the hybrids shift for one last fight, and when the Spear Hybrid skewers Pochita, she and Reze close from either flank before a whirling aerial slash drops them both. Makima's death frees her and restores her true self. Months later, during the Chainsaw Man Church arc, she sits among the church's leaders beside Barem, the Spear Hybrid, and Miri Sugo, plotting a slaughter to bait Chainsaw Man into the open. The weapons ready their forms at a food court only for Quanxi to carve them up and pass them to Public Safety, but the raging Fire Devil attacks free them, and a laughing Whip guts Fumiko Mifune and several agents from behind. She crows about the escape and ridicules Miri for rationalizing the torching of Denji's home and pets. When Denji reverts to Chainsaw Man, she and Miri rush him and get batted aside, and she looks on aghast as the Spear Hybrid is split open and devoured. Frantic, she whips at Denji, who dodges, severs a leg, and pounds his chainsaws into her until she drops. Her hybrid biology lets her morph with a finger snap that mimics a whip crack, trade blows with fighters like Katana Man, and mend by drinking blood, so that short of someone pulling her trigger again, neither shredding nor beheading keeps her dead.
