Summary

With the Eternity Devil closing in, Kobeni and Arai scream for the group to throw Denji to it. Aki reaches for 'The Sword' to break them out, but Himeno restrains him, warning that the weapon would drastically cut his lifespan. When Arai and Kobeni dive at Denji, Aki steps in and takes the stab meant for him. He admits he has no fondness for Denji, yet he needs every ally he can muster to one day kill the Gun Devil, so he is willing to risk his own body to keep Denji alive. Stunned, Denji shouts at Power to stop Aki's bleeding.

Key Events

The sight of the wounded Aki, paired with a vision of her dead former partners' graves, sends Himeno into a breakdown. Fed up, Denji resigns himself to being devoured but warns that he intends to fight back anyway. Having heard the devil shriek when Himeno struck it, he reasons that even an invulnerable creature can still feel pain, and he resolves to hurt it so badly that it kills itself. The others recoil at this devilish line of thinking.

The devil briefly swallows him whole before he bursts back out in Chainsaw form and begins carving into it as the group watches in horror.
