Summary

Out of sheer hatred for sunburns, Asa fires at the sinking sun, but the shot does nothing. Denji mentions he picked up a convenience-store bread bun for her, and when she questions how a jobless boy managed it, he admits he swiped a wallet from a dead body. Asa calls that disgusting, to which he shrugs that she is free to skip it since he forces nothing on her. She bites in anyway, clearly liking it, then invents a complaint about all the additives packed inside. Denji repeats that eating it is optional, yet she gives in, declaring a toxic woman like her can stomach it just fine.

Key Events

Asa admits he had a point, that she ought to live for enjoyment rather than fret over every obstacle. He asks whether he really said such a thing, and she confirms it, explaining that she once resented everyone around her for staying cheerful when life was hard, only to realize now that they were weathering their own troubles in their own way. A smile crosses her face as she finishes the bun, right before Yoru seizes control and demands some post-meal exercise from Denji. He pedals her through Tokyo's streets, letting Yoru pick off any Pseudo-Chainsaw Men in their path, until they collide with the Fake Chainsaw Man.

Notes

Yoru's attempt to gun him down is cut short by a swing that throws the two off their bicycle. He taunts Denji, asking whether a so-called Solitary Warrior from Hell ought to be off flirting with some girl, but as Denji yanks his ripcord he replies that the Warrior from Hell is not who he truly is. The Fake Chainsaw Man tries to take his head mid-change, only for Denji to duck and lop off his opponent's right arm. Even short an arm, the foe warns Denji that he has just made a grave mistake. The chapter is part of the War Devil arc and appears in Volume 22.
