Chapter 199: Enjoy Your Food

The Falling Devil tells her superior that the pair are surely gawking at her bared underwear, prompting the Death Devil to quickly cover up. Answering her sister, she explains that her dying would only spawn a replacement Death Devil likely far colder toward humans. When the Fake Chainsaw Man asks why she cannot simply quit, she says the process runs on its own beneath her will, and that when The Prophecy arrives, humanity will dread death more than anything. Famine pitches the idea of being eaten by Chainsaw Man so the very notion of death vanishes. The Death Devil mulls it over, then states that anyone hoping to protect humanity has to join her. The Copycat leaps at the offer, only for her to announce she means to consume the two of them instead.

A flock of crows descends and devours both the Fake Chainsaw Man and Famine alive. Asked by Falling how the meal tasted, the Death Devil judges it foul and coughs up tiny dolls shaped like Famine and the Fake Chainsaw. Falling explains that Death can puppet whomever she slays, then wonders why she refrains from killing her prey before swallowing them. The Death Devil answers that leaving them alive strikes her as both more respectful and more delicious.

As Death moves to conjure both the Fake Chainsaw Man and her sister, Famine strikes back the moment she appears, and Falling threatens to lop the head clean from Famine. In reply, Death orders both Famine and the Fake Chainsaw to unleash as much terror as they can manage, their condition as dolls leaving them no choice but to obey. The chapter belongs to the War Devil arc and opens Volume 22.
