Summary

Reduced to his human form and tied down with chainsaw blades beside the train, a half-dressed Katana Man wakes to find Denji standing over him, mocking his quick recovery and branding him a loser. Denji says he is waiting on the police but refuses to let mere prison answer for Himeno's death. When Aki arrives, Denji proposes a contest, inviting him to take turns kicking their captive in the groin until the police come, with the loudest scream deciding the winner. Aki protests that torture is not their duty, yet after a glance at the cigarette tied to Himeno's memory he rolls up his sleeves and joins in, both of them treating the screams as a requiem for their lost comrade.

Key Events

Across the city the surviving Gun-Agents are rounded up under the Angel Devil's watch. Makima briefs the bureau, explaining that the Snake Devil killed Sawatari before interrogation, almost certainly by contract, and that the collected Gun Devil fragments now form a mass big enough to start tracing the Gun Devil's whereabouts. That night Denji dreams of a recurring door; an eye peers through it and Pochita's voice warns him never to open it, jolting him awake in a sweat. Beside him Power stirs, revealing freshly grown horns, and answers his comment with a punch that hurls him across the room and startles them both.
