Summary

Pinned by the Ghost Devil and recalling a tender moment with Himeno, Aki is spared at the last instant. The Devil hands him a cigarette marked with Himeno's note of easy revenge, and the words steel him to behead the creature and capture Akane Sawatari. Kobeni holds a blade to Akane's throat, but Aki orders her not to kill.

Denji ducks out of the elevator and leaves Power to face a floor of zombies alone, then meets Katana Man higher up. Refusing his enemy's offer to surrender, Denji transforms, and the two crash across rooftops and onto a train. Katana Man severs both his arms and demands an apology for his slain grandfather, but Denji splits him in two with a chainsaw hidden in his leg and binds him to the train. With Katana Man subdued, Denji ropes Aki into a petty revenge contest against him.

Makima reports that Akane orchestrated the assault and sought the Chainsaw Devil's heart, only for the Snake Devil to kill her in an involuntary suicide tied to her Gun Devil pact. The seized Gun Devil flesh, once combined, finally drifts toward the Devil itself. Aki later smokes Himeno's cigarette, Denji dreams again of the forbidden door behind which Pochita warns him never to look, and a purple-haired stranger drifts toward a cafe wondering about him.
