Boom Boom Boom

Still torn, Denji presses Reze on what makes her want to flee together; she simply says she likes him. Tempted yet candid, he admits his life has been improving, his climbing rank in the bureau and his warmer ties to Aki and Power, and he is not ready to throw it all away so soon. He asks whether they might keep meeting; she asks if another girl already holds his heart, then kisses him hard. Seconds later he tips over backward, and it turns out she has bitten his tongue clean off.

Reze opens his throat, and as Denji reaches for his cord she severs the hand before he manages to pull it. She drives a blade into his back, cradles him tenderly, kisses him a final time, and softly apologizes while declaring she means to claim his heart. Just then Beam erupts up through the floor, scoops Denji up, and races downhill, cursing himself for failing to catch the scent of a bomb on her. Reze now tugs a pin from her choker; her head and right arm burst apart and snap back together, exposing her transformed shape as a Bomb Devil-Hybrid. Branding Beam a thief, she rockets after the pair on a violent blast and lands before them in a flash.

Titled Ban Ban Ban in Japanese, this chapter opens Volume 6 and ran in 2019 Issue 48 on October 28, 2019, within the Bomb Girl arc, later adapted in the Reze Arc film. Aki, Power, Makima, and Pochita appear in mention or thought alongside Denji, Reze, and Beam.
