A Fine Day For Explosions

Holding Denji, Beam tries to break away, but Reze launches herself into his path with explosive bursts and cuts him off. She proposes sparing him if he hands over Denji; instead Beam roars and balloons into a massive shark-headed creature, only for Reze to press a hand to his face, blast him, and put him down. Three private Devil Hunters turn up and radio the scene in, so she snaps her fingers and blows all three apart, then turns to find Beam has bolted with Denji once more.

Over at the 2nd Division's training grounds, Aki trades blows with several hunters; one called Nomo thanks him and dangles a senior post within five years. As they part, the Angel Devil asks why Aki never brought up his shortened lifespan, a fact Power had leaked, and confesses he envies anyone doomed to die since it spares them effort. Nomo abruptly sprints back pleading for aid. By the entrance a badly hurt Beam cradles Denji's mangled body and warns that a Bomb Hybrid is bearing down on them, naming it the Gun Devil's partner; pressed on how he knows, he says Makima made him swear silence on pain of death. Nomo then spots a young girl, Reze in human guise, walking up with a tale of a Devil's attack, though her broad grin gives her away. Seeing they will not just wave her in, Reze readies the pin at her neck and resolves to butcher them all.

The Japanese title is Bakuhatsu Biyori. This Volume 6 chapter ran in 2019 Issue 49 on November 2, 2019, in the Bomb Girl arc, and was adapted in the Reze Arc film. Power, Makima, and the Gun Devil are referenced alongside the main cast.
